Building a healthy, thriving, and prosperous Salton Sea Region for all
Alianza Coachella Valley is a nonprofit organization working in the communities surrounding the Salton Sea since 2010 and was formed to address deep and persistent inequities in the Eastern Coachella Valley and the broader Salton Sea region.
Our mission is to transform the socioeconomic conditions of the Eastern Coachella Valley and Salton Sea region so that people in all communities have opportunities to prosper.
We exist because too many families in the Salton Sea region face systemic barriers tied to poverty, environmental injustice, under-resourced schools, and limited infrastructure. These challenges are interconnected.
Alianza serves as the central convening and support organization for a collaborative partnership of community-based organizations, public agencies, advocates, researchers, and residents across the Coachella Valley and Imperial Valley.
In this role, we:
● Lead community-centered campaigns that advance economic, environmental, and education justice.
● Coordinate cross-sector partnerships to align strategy, resources, and action.
● Advance policy and systems change at the local, county, state, and federal levels.
● Elevate community voice and leadership to shape public decisions.
●
Fill gaps in development, financing, and engagement processes to move community priority projects from idea to implementation.
